It is difficult to happily blog about my cats or feline
health issues you all need to know when Australia is suffering the worst fires
in history. Instead I’m just posting the following places where you can donate
to to help in the fight against the many losses to the fires.
Go to fundraise.redcross.org.au/ to donate to Australian Red Cross' Disaster Relief and Recovery.
Go to wires.org.au to donate to WIRES, an organization committed to helping the wildlife in Australia.
And from the Late Show with Stephen Colbert:
Australia Red Cross
Country Women's Association of New South Wales
New South Wales State Emergency Service
New Rural Fire Service
WIRES Wildlife Rescue
World Wildlife Fund
And I’m thankful that the U.S. has sent some
companies of firefighters and wildlife experts to help in the efforts. Even U.S.
zoo veterinarians have volunteered to go if they are needed. The last I heard
they have not been called up yet but they are ready to go.
Just to keep up with everyone else let’s join The Kitties
Blue at Cat On My Head with a selfie. Miss Misty Meadow, or Meadow for short,
believes in really close selfies.
Our local Scentsy consultant (who gives all her profits to local NZ rescues) is holding a fundraiser for the baby bats abandoned in the mad scramble to run from the flames. People care, worldwide they care. Australia will lose untold species and many small rescues are going to their aid so your post is very welcome.
ReplyDeleteIt is devastating to think about all the species that are affected by the fires. I'm glad you are donating that way. Glad to do my part.
DeleteMost inquisitive selfies! Lots of purrs for Australia and all those in need and affected by the ravages. . . .

Sweet close up selfies. We're purring and praying for all in the path of the fires.
ReplyDeleteThe Florida Furkids
I'm sure they appreciate your thoughts and prayers.
DeleteGood info, thanks! The Australian fires are so devastating, we are sending prayers for Australia.
ReplyDeleteYes, I am praying too.
DeleteGreat selfies. Thank you for sharing this information. I will choose one to donate to.
ReplyDeleteThanks you for donating. I'm sure they will be thankful for anything.
DeleteYOUR SELFIES are wonderful. Extra Pawkisses for a happy week ahead🐾😙😻
ReplyDeleteIt's heartbreaking what's happening in Australia. Hope the rain is coming soon. Healing purrayers are on the way❤❤❤
I read that even rains aren't helping because lightning comes with the rain and ignites more fires. I'm convinced that prayers can help.
DeleteYour selfies are just wonderful! Those awful fires are not wonderful and they are very, very scary too.
ReplyDeleteThank you and yes they are scary
DeleteBeautiful selfies! I can't even fathom what's going on in Australia. The loss of so much wildlife is beyond devastating.
ReplyDeleteIt is. I think someone should come up with a word that is worse than devastating.
DeleteVery nice selfies ! I just have a question a piece of your ear is missing is that like they do in Spain with stray cats to show that they are spayed ? Yes, it is awful what happened in Australia ! the poor helpless animals !
ReplyDeleteYes, the ear tipping is used to tell if feral cats have been spayed/neutered. Meadow was a feral cat but I finally rescued her a couple of years after she was spayed. Thanks for asking.
